Assessment of professionalism among pharmacy students: A pilot study exploring professionalism tenets and associated factors

Background: Enhancing student pharmacist professionalism has gained much attention in pharmacy education. This study aimed to assess the of professional year students a private school Lebanon and identify significant factors. Methods: descriptive cross-sectional was conducted using validated instrument (PPI) applied three years study. A stratification by performed compare groups subgroups associations. Results: The reported high overall score (78.65±10.36) good scores for six tenets professionalism, including excellence (21.79±3.18), respect (17.47±2.66), altruism (12.74±2.00), duty (9.32±1.38), accountability (8.62±1.55), integrity (8.89±1.51). There no improvement across years, nor there change demographics. However, working on part-time basis significantly associated with lower (beta=-2.674), (beta=-0.553), (beta=0.523), (beta=-0.295), (beta=-0.316). Conclusion: revealed baseline among all improvements from one other. Further studies that follow cohorts up curriculum are necessary individual comparisons.
